After a long period of preparation, International Society for Chinese Law and History was set up in North America. Associate Professor You Chenjun was voted as the president of the Committee on Research, one of the four subcommittees, which was the result of the secret ballot election. Among eight executive members, Associate Professor You is the only one who comes from Mainland of China.
International Society for Chinese Law and History aims to develop the research on Chinese law and history in the educational circles, and strengthen the communication between scholars all over the world. English is the work language there. The current chairman is Professor Chenli from University of Toronto. Researcher Jerome Bourgon from CNRS, Professor Chen Huixin from National Chengchi University, Professor Thomas Buoye from University of Tulsa, Professor Geoffrey MacCormack from University of Aberdeen and other six well-known scholars were voted as Board Members. There are nearly 100 members in this organization at present, and they are from America, Canada, British, Japan, France, Mainland of China, Hong Kong, Taiwan and other areas.
