Brief Introduction to the Lecturer:

Asif H Qureshi is a Professor of International Economic Law in the College of Law, University of Korea. Prior to that since 1985 he has been a Professor at the Law School, University of Manchester, UK. He is a barrister attached to Quadrant Chambers in London, UK since 1998. Since 2008 he has also been an Advocate member of the Sindh High Court Bar Association, Pakistan. In 2002 he was appointed by the Dispute Settlement Body of the World Trade Organization (WTO) to be a member of the Roster of WTO Non-Governmental Panelists eligible for Panel service. He is a long standing member of the International Law Association Committee on International Trade. Asif Qureshi is the founding Editor-in-Chief: Manchester Journal of International Economic Law,. He has held various Visiting Professorships including at Osaka University, Japan; University of Malaya, Malaysia; University Kebangsaan, Malaysia; Fudan Law School, Fudan University, Shanghai, China; China-EU School of Law, Beijing, China; and Tsinghua University Law School, Beijing, China; North West University of Law and Political Science in Xian, China; and Jilin University in Changchun, China. In 1992 he was a Visiting Scholar at Yale Law School, Yale University, US. Professor Qureshi has acted as a consultant to and for various governments and international organizations on WTO law including Pakistan, Saudi-Arabia, Cambodia, Korea, the Commonwealth Secretariat; the European Commission; and the WTO. He has published more than 60 articles, chapters, reviews/editorials; and 10 books including monographs, edited volumes and textbooks.
